Today we introduced a new feature in our Online Design software, the Design Wizard, intended to make your online sportswear design experience simpler and more convenient.
With the help of customer feedback and usability testing, users can get a guided, step-by-step, design experience. The Design Wizard offers a newly designed start page for each of our three Design Studios–Embroidery, Print and Team.
Open up the designer and a series of guided pop-up bubbles make it easier to identify and use the features of our Online Design software, from choosing a template to editing text to updating quantities and sizes.

We work hard but also like to play and have some fun at LogoSportswear.
When customers give us their vote of confidence and purchase large orders we blow an air horn in our office–and there have been lots of loud horn blows this week! We also try celebrate new breakthroughs and incremental improvements throughout our business. Today we are having a Happy Hour to celebrate some of our web team’s latest breakthroughs.
Today we introduced our new Mega drop-down navigation system. This system improves user experience by offering visitors different ways to navigate our site other than by product categories or characteristics. You can navigate by brand and by market niches. For instance many of our visitors shop with the goal of purchasing for market needs such as Schools, Reunions, Weddings, Tradeshows, Eco Friendly, Restaurants, Golf, Fundraising, etc.
Next week we are planning a nice new breakthrough for Online Design of jackets, warmups and outerwear just in time for the Fall outerwear season. Customers will be able to design not only front placements but also back design placements–for both print and embroidery decoration options.
Full-back embroidery designs can be expensive because of high stitch counts and custom logo set-up charges. So we recommend that you keep your costs down and consider embroidery on the back of the jacket between shoulder blades and under the collar.
Back printing is also available for many of our jackets and warmups. We encourage you to use our design templates to personalize your designs.

Professional sports teams overseas have been sporting sponsor’s names prominently on the front of team jerseys for years. Just last week, AON Corp. announced that it would replace AIG and feature the AON brand prominently on the front of Manchester United’s soccer jersey starting with the 2010-11 season. Reports are that the four-year agreement cost about $132 million.
Up to now the jerseys of professional and college teams in the US have been largely without sponsor’s logos except maybe for the small logos from the brands Nike, Adidas, etc. The opportunity to sell advertising on these jerseys can be huge and both the NBA and NFL just announced programs to test these waters.
The NY Times recently reported that the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury locked up a deal to have LifeLock’s 10-inch-by-4-inch name of the identity-theft protection company stretching across the team’s jerseys. A small Mercury logo appears like a badge on the upper left of the jersey. “The rest of the world considers this business as usual and assumes this is the way professional sports teams market,” Rick Welts president of the N.B.A.’s Phoenix Suns, which owns the Mercury said.
A few NFL franchises are now exploring sponsorship deals that would put marketers’ names and logos on team practice jerseys, according to AdAge. The NFL passed a rule in March that allows teams to pursue local sponsorship opportunities that can give companies the chance to put 3 1/2-by-4 1/2-inch patches on the shoulders of practice jerseys in order to bring in a new revenue stream.
There is no doubt custom team jerseys with sponsor names can offer advertisers valuable real estate, especially for teams that are regularly featured on television and other media outlets. However the major sports leagues in the US have built up very lucrative licensed sports jersey businesses. Will sponsor’s names on jerseys affect this business? Perhaps not. Even with the AIG name on its jerseys, Manchester United still manages to sell about 6.6 million jerseys a year.
In these tough economic times, sponsorship on jerseys shouldn’t be the sole domain of high profile professional and college sports teams. As a sign of the times, look for sponsors names to prominently appear on the team uniforms of lower profile schools and recreation teams. It is a great way to offset team uniform and program expenses. It is worth pitching the idea to sponsors. I always look for inspiration to improve myself and our business. As a sports lover I enjoy following successful teams and look to takeaway some pearls of wisdom on what makes them special.
UCONN is a hotbed for college basketball. Those of us who are UCONN alumni or live in Connecticut follow UCONN men and women basketball in part to survive the long New England Winters but also to enjoy the incredible competitive and team spirit each team possesses. That spirit starts with UCONN’s Hall of Fame coaches, Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma–both of whom took their teams to the Final Four this year.
It is UCONN’s women basketball team that deserves special recognition this year after finishing with a perfect season with a win at the NCAA finals. It is really hard to win a national championship. The fact that the lady Huskies have won SIX National Championship since 1995 speaks to their dominance.
To win a national championship, without a single loss, may be considered a once in a lifetime dream–so many things could go wrong during the course of the season. Well for the UCONN ladies the bar is really, really high–this is their THIRD perfect season, an amazing accomplisment.
